Dr Eloise Bright
Love That Pet Vet
Dr Eloise is one of our Love That Pet Vets and has worked in Small Animal Practice for 8 years. As a child she grew up with a collection of ‘pocket pets’, with rats, mice, hermit crabs, a budgie, guinea pigs and a rabbit taking up residence in her room at various times. Eventually she was allowed her own dog and chose the biggest dog she could think of, a big goofy Newfoundland, who loved to ‘rescue’ people swimming.
Dr Eloise always wanted to be a vet and after spending some years travelling, working in hospitality and customer service, she entered university as a mature age student to complete her Veterinary Science degree in 2006. She currently dotes on her special little geriatric pomeranian, Duster and a cat called Jimmy who often object to her habit of bringing home stray animals and wildlife. As does her wonderful husband who has banned her from having any more pets. She has two sons who think it is normal for mum to rescue baby birds who have fallen from their nest, a lorikeet from the swimming pool and hand-raise a baby kitten.
Dr Eloise has primarily practiced in Sydney, however, she has also taken the opportunity to locum in Darwin and volunteer in a charity clinic in the Cook Islands. In 2010 she completed a year-long veterinary acupuncture course and is currently completing her Masters in Small Animal Practice. Eloise joined Love That Pet in 2013 and has been developing and sharing her pet care insights on lovethatpet.com ever since. She is just completed her first marathon, loves to do arts and crafts with her boys and would one day like to add another dog to the family.
